And…one year later

Memorial weekend 2013. I felt it was time to get back into posting on my blog. Spending less time on Reddit will be good for my well being, plus Blogging helps me to feel productive.

Setting a record…

…for the longest time between posts. Yikes! my last post was almost three months ago.
I’ll take a moment to catch up in pictures.
My employer put on a holiday party for its employees’ families.
The kiddos sipped hot cocoa. We’ve learned that one serving of hot cocoa is too much for either of them, so they end up splitting a serving.
Our Christmas card for 2011.
My birthday dinner at Noodles & Company. Josh took the picture.
Raleigh’s assessment from pre-school shows that he thinks his name is Batman and he can spell Batman.
We’ve had the warmest winter ever! For example, Leah built a sand castle at the local park in the middle of January!
but we’ve still had a few cold days and snow finally did arrive.
We watched the cobber women’s hockey team lose to Gustavus (which we’d later learn was a good preview at the MIAC championship game).
We bought skates for Leah and went skating on one of the warmer days.
We scored a sofa and a loveseat (Leather/Vinyl) for a very cheap price from Craigslist.
Josh gave in and finally let me buy a minivan ![]()
The kids have been consistently going to gymnastics. Leah is wearing her Leo in the pic below.
I just like this picture of Leah.
More snow fun.
The kids in their jammies.
The kids in their snow fort.
I’ll try to remember to post more pics within the week.

Nice to see you again :)

It’s been a while since I last posted…Yah, sorry about that. I’ve noticed that I take fewer pictures with my good camera now that I have a phone that is smart and takes pictures for me. The downside to that is that I am hardly at my home computer to import pictures from my camera, which is when I actually post pictures to my blog.
I’ll try to be better at taking and posting pics of the kids, but no promises. If you haven’t found me on Facebook yet, try to find me. You’ll see many more pictures of the kids on there than you will on this blog.
The pictures below were taken by Jamie ‘Savage’ Anderson earlier this fall.
Late to the party

This first picture of Raleigh sums up how these past few weeks have been. A little funny, a little weird, and a little messed up.
Josh and I have been nursing some head/chest colds for the past two weeks. Neither of us remember ever being this sick before.
I’ve harvested produce from our raised garden beds. The carrots seemed to be the cream of the crop this year.
We’ve been making lots of apple-y recipes lately. I’ve had three different people give me bags of apples in the past three weeks. We’ve made apple cake, dehydrated apple slices, and apple sauce so far. We only have about a bag of apples left now.
One of my coworkers got married and we got to bring the kids to the wedding. It was the best wedding ever to bring kids to…the ceremony lasted only just over 2 minutes.
My little brother, Corey, came to visit again. He was transitioning jobs and got to stay with us for a week or so between jobs.
The kids really miss him. And me too.
We bought a lovesac for our reading area downstairs and the kids love it so far.
And knowing that winter is coming, we’ve been trying to spend as much time outside as possible lately.
Leah is becoming more friendly with the camera, and she is growing up too quickly.
We had a rummage sale, our first ever, and Leah was a huge help. She kept finding stuff from the sale to wear around.
Raleigh started preschool again and so far he says that he has four friends…Ayden, Louie, Sophia, and I forget the fourth one.
