Halloween: The food

So, while I wasn’t very organized, I was very prepared to make lots of yummy food. I even attempted to be fancy with displaying some of the food (note the caprese salad bites sticking out of the pumpkin  on the table")


In the above photo, you can see the pumpkin tart that I made right in front of the picture…it turned out OK. Not sure I’ll make it again, perhaps just a pumpkin pie next time.

Raleigh and Leah helped cut out the sugar cookies.


Josh cut the jalopenos into fourths on Friday and my mother and I stuffed and wrapped them on Saturday morning.


We also made deviled eggs with a bit of a twist (lettuce under the yellow gooey stuff and diced tomatoes in the yellow gooey stuff)


We didn’t get a picture of the following bits of food that we also had at the party:

  • Spinach Artichoke dip with homemade sourdough bread
  • BBQ’ed lil’smokies
  • Crack Dip (called that because it’s so addictive)
  • Brownies with caramel and M & M’s
  • Devils on horseback (prunes stuffed with cream cheese and blue cheese and then wrapped in bacon)
  • carmelized oniony/tomatoey crostinis
  • Caramel Apples on a stick with toffee bits…no wait chocolate bits?…oh, that’s right it was chunks of burned caramel…let’s just say last year’s were better
  • Roasted Red Pepper Garlic Vegetable dip
