We had an early Christmas at the Wilson household last weekend. And, like usual, we attempted to take a family photo. Here are the best ones.

Summer icicles

July 17, 2011

We can’t seem to get enough of our little backyard pool lately. With temps above 80 and sometimes a heat index warning, we definitely make use of this fabulous 10 dollar item.

My kids (see above) are also having fun playing with the hose (see below).

I had my fancy camera out (it’s really 6 years old now, but I still think it’s fancy) and actually took some cool pictures of the water coming out of the garden hose. It looks like really clear ice.

I also took some goofy pictures.

Our outdoor pool

June 14, 2011

It’s not heated, and it’s not that big, but…it only cost $10. And, the kids and the dog love it. So, it is totally worth it in my book. And we all know that my book is the only book that matters. Wow, that sounded bad. Note to self, do not try to be sarcastic and witty at the same time.

Anyway, back to the pool…As you can see, Leah surely loves it.

And, it turns out that Murdoch is not afraid of the water at all. He’ll stick his whole face in the water to try to get a toy at the bottom of the pool.

IMG_8191

While Leah and Murdoch are having fun in the pool, Raleigh and the neighbor kids are having fun shooting each other with water guns.

IMG_8174

There’s been lots of rolling on the ground. And a yellow monkey used as a chew toy.

IMG_7940

IMG_7941

There have been happy faces. (See Raleigh’s grey teeth? They are still bruised from when he ran smack into our basement wall)

IMG_7944

There have been sly faces…

IMG_7946

…and questioning/comedic faces…

IMG_7947

…and anti-authoritative faces…

IMG_7948

…and then smug faces…

IMG_7953

…and slightly annoyed faces…

IMG_7954

And there have been cheesy smiley faces…

IMG_7956

…followed by protective/motherly/toddlery faces…

IMG_7958

there was an attempt by me to be photographically artistic…

IMG_7961

…and inquisitive faces…

IMG_7966

…more rolling on the floor, except this time by a dog…

IMG_7967

…and then there was the tackling of the dog…

IMG_7969

…who narrowly escaped with his life. See how happy he is to be alive here? Don’t his eyes just scream “I’m so happy” and not “get me out of this crazy house”…

IMG_7972

…and then even the dog gives me a smug face.

One chair

April 29, 2011

It starts with a dog and a boy in a chair.

IMG_7798

Then another dog comes along…

IMG_7800

…and wants to join in the fun.

IMG_7801

And then a little girl comes along…

IMG_7802

…and also wants to join in the fun.

IMG_7804

Two weekends ago, my parents came to visit. Raleigh got to show Grandma how to play Mario Bros. on the Wii.

IMG_7767

And Leah got to play with Grandpa in the Thomas tent.

IMG_7769

How many people and Dogs do you think we can get into this one little tent?
